About your Teachers
Sally Russell
- Sally is a passionate teacher of Key Stage 1 and 2 and has over 10 years experience within the independent sector.
- Having taught live online lessons throughout the Covid pandemic, Sally was able to ensure all children kept up to date with their learning and expected progress through all areas of the National Curriculum.
- Sally is a keen sailor and adventurer and has travelled extensively (across land and sea) throughout the Caribbean, America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Asia and Europe.
- With an aim to link her passions together, Sally developed Wanderlust Education.
- Sally creates memorable lessons for children, incorporating the ever changing environments while embedding the necessary schooling, to develop a wholesome education.
Iona Wallace
- With over 16 years of combined experience as a primary school class teacher, forest-school leader and outdoor education practitioner, Iona is dedicated to nurturing the next generation.
- With her experience in varying educational settings, she is passionate about empowering children and adults to connect with nature’s wonders and has witnessed first hand the power of holistic education.
- Iona’s focus is on fostering not only intellectual growth but also emotional, social and physical well-being.
- She collaborates with children and families to create personal education programs that complement educational need and emphasise curiosity, wonder, and a love of learning through holistic experiences.
Jessica Went
- Jessica has always had a passion for working with children and has over 16 years experience teaching throughout Key Stage 1 and 2 within the independent sector.
- As a Trauma specialist ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and with a Level 3 counseling and psychotherapy qualification, pastoral care is where Jessica’s passion lies.
- Her aim is to develop a child's growth mindset, confidence and resilience by instilling in them the skills and tools to allow them to navigate life, friendships, challenges and adversity.
- Having completed a children's counselling course as well as RESTA (Resilience Support Teaching Assistant), Jessica is driven to help children develop their powers of compassion, sympathy and empathy.
- Jessica supports children as they learn to move and evolve through all these key life resources, allowing for greater freedom of heart and mind, to foster creativity and enrich meaningful relationships as well as building resilience in life’s adversity.
Pam Clarke
- Pam is an experienced teacher with over 20 years experience within both state and independent schools.
- With a Master’s Degree in Education, the national qualification for Special Educational Needs, a Diploma in Teaching and Assessing Learners with Dyslexia, and experience teaching from Reception to Year 6.
- She is well versed in preparing pupils for Key Stage 1 and 2 SATS national tests as well as tutoring 11+ and Common Entrance exams.
- Her teaching philosophy is centered around her belief that every pupil can succeed with the right support and guidance.
- Pam is committed to creating fun, safe and inclusive environments for all pupils where they feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their ideas.
- As a teacher, Pam encourages critical thinking and problem solving, and her aim is to provide a variety of learning opportunities to cater to different learning styles.
