What happens when we are in a different time zone?All packages are adapted to suit your family. The timing of live lessons can be altered to suit your requirements. 24hr notice is required to change timing of lessons. 
My child has special educational needs, how can you support them?We have a specialist SENCO available who can assess children and decide what extra help they need. We also offer additional live sessions to provide extra support where needed. 
Do you offer a discount for siblings and groups?Yes, we offer a 10% discount for any siblings. Contact us for group deals for 3 or more children. 
Will you link the learning to the countries we are traveling to?Yes, all the teaching packages are bespoke to each child. Maps will be provided so that each child can outline their travel plans as they go and use them for the geography activities.Is this enough to cover the national guidance for home schooling?Yes. The national guidance for home school is 3-4 hours per day and all our packages will cover this.
I want to minimise the screen time for my child, how can you support this?We will provide a starter pack consisting of exercise books for maths, English and project work. There will be an option to download or print out the tasks for the week at the beginning of each week. Almost all of the work will be written in the exercise books, therefore screen time will be reduced, apart from live lessons and videos.
How does this compare to mainstream school?Wanderlust Education provides 36 weeks of education spread over 3 terms of 4 months each. With 12 weeks of work every 4 months,  allows you to choose when to have  holidays and breaks from school.
What does an average day look like with Wanderlust Education?Timing is completely up to you. When sailing or traveling, families are often keen to complete school as early as possible, enabling them to enjoy time as a family in the afternoon.

An example of a day could be:
8.00 - 8.30 - Reading (quiet reading or out loud to an adult)
8.45 - 9.45 - English lesson
10.00-11.00 - Maths lesson
11.15-12.15 - Project work
Afternoon - Family time/ exploring/ playing/ exercise etc.
What does Project work involve?Project work are weekly studies linked to where you are in the world and will cover the following subjects: geography, history, science, cultural studies (RS), PSHE, Art, DT. They change each week.
What equipment does my child need?All children will need a pencil case containing: pencils, colouring pencils, a 30cm ruler, rubber, pencil sharpener, highlighters.
Key Stage 2 children (Year 5 and 6) will also need a 180-degree protractor, calculator and pair of compasses.
All children will also need a kindle or a selection of books to read. There is a link to an online library on your dashboard.
What is expected from the parents?Parents should be around to support their child when they need it, but should not need to sit next to help and provide constant help. Younger children will require more parental support than the older children.What if my child is stuck on a question and I am not sure how to help?If a child is stuck on a certain piece of work, it is best to email us. If necessary your teacher can arrange a quick 1:1 live lesson to address any confusion or to provide additional support where needed.
